Philly Festival Plans for Hov?....and possible 'Hiatus'?

Earlier last week, the legendary Brooklyn M.C Jay-Z announced that he was going have something special for the people of Philadelphia for Labor Day weekend. As with any Jay-Z related news, it caused quite a stir as many speculated everything from Jay possibly resigning Freeway to the "God M.C" reconciling a still apparent beef with former label mate/ rapper Beanie Siegel. As it turns out Free was in attendance for Jay's announcement and the two seem to be cool with each other (He ain't sign him. c'mon people...). No Beans sighting however.
What Jay did announce though, was the "Made in America"

Set to kick off Labor Day Weekend the "Made in America" Festival will be a two-day event, which will feature up to 28 musical acts on Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Jay is rumored to be headlining one night of the event. The Philadelphia Daily News reported that tickets for the festival would go on sale May 23rd, for $99at LiveNation.com and Ticketmaster.com. Billboard is reporting that Jay is in the thick of booking 28 different acts from various genres: Hip-Hop, Rock, R&B, Latin and dance. He's gonna be one busy curator. that's for sure.

So Hov is spreading some brotherly love. But, is his festival planning any indicative of him dropping another album? I guess not because, in the same Billboard interview, Jay was asked about this and stated that he wanted to spend more time with his newborn daughter Blue Ivy Carter:

"I thought I would be more inspired to have all these new feelings to talk about (in music), but I really just want to hang out with my daughter. I want to enjoy this time for what it is. I'm sure that bug to get back in the studio will come back at some point."-Jay-Z

So while the beans situation isn’t dealt with to the liking of many Hip-Hop heads, Jay will proceed with his Festival plans and spend time with his daughter. A win-win. And the time with his daughter? Possibly Hov’s most humble win.
